Every homeless family has the potential to succeed. Upward Bound House helps make that success a reality.
That’s why at Upward Bound House, we provide homeless families with housing and supportive services to suit their specific needs. Our programs are designed to empower homeless parents and their children to obtain housing stability, build healthy relationships, and enjoy emotional and financial well-being . A team of professional staff offers an array of services in housing, employment and evidence-based, trauma-informed care to over 200 families annually. We provide our program services in Santa Monica, Culver City, Compton and South Los Angeles.
Families are primarily referred to our programs through the Coordinated Entry System for Families following an in-depth assessment process. Each family receives one-on-one case management throughout their stay with us. We ensure that each adult family member engages in job training, professional development, and life skills enrichment, and works towards achieving financial and employment sustainability. Our staff is there to assist them in securing permanent affordable housing, as well as rental subsidies to address any immediate barriers to housing. To ensure long-term success, we connect each family with community resources from within our vast network of partners, and continue to provide aftercare support for up to a year after they have moved into their own homes.
