Nearing the end of 2019, Upward Bound House was awarded a grant of $200,000 from the Bank of America Neighborhood Builders. It means a tremendous amount to be awarded such an honorable donation, growing leadership and community, and we are eager to put this contribution into great use. UBH is deeply grateful for such a significant donor like Bank of America and admire their actions to help our community. We cannot thank the Bank of America Neighborhood Builders’ enough and appreciate their support as a new partner of the UBH community.

Upward Bound House has been selected as one of two recipients of Bank of America’s prestigious Neighborhood Builders’ grant for 2019, which not only awards nonprofit organizations flexible funding for two years, but also provides leadership development and access to a peer network of leaders whose organizations have previously been awarded.

Through the Neighborhood Builders® program we deploy capital and build cross-sector partnerships to advance nonprofit leaders addressing economic mobility and social progress issues in the communities we serve. Since 2004, we’ve invested more than $240million in 49 communities –partnering with more than 1,000 nonprofits and more than 2,000 nonprofit leaders by delivering flexible funding, leadership development and a network of peers.

Fifteen years on, Neighborhood Builders® is one of the nation’s largest philanthropic investments in nonprofit leadership development. And in 2019, we introduced Neighborhood Champions, a new program in more than 40 smaller communities we serve which supports the role of strong nonprofit leaders to advance economic mobility.
